Acclaimed author and producer Steven J. Rubin will premiere a regular column detailing the experiences of people who have worked on DVDs and documentaries about classic and cult films. Steve, the author of ‘The James Bond Films’ and ‘The James Bond Encyclopedia’, is also the producer of the superb documentary ‘Return to The Great Escape’. Steve will initiate this insightful column with his memories of researching the classic 1963 all-star blockbuster and interviewing the cast and crew

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robert Sellers looks at the difficulties in getting "Monty Python's 'Life of Brian' to the big screen - Noted film scholar and author Robert Sellers has contributed an in-depth examination of this classic and controversial 1979 comedy. Don Knotts Exclusive Interview! - Lee Pfeiffer has recently completed an extensive exclusive interview with comedy legend Don Knotts. For the first time, Knotts speaks extensively about his motion picture career. In the 1960's, he won five Emmy awards for his role on "The Andy Griffith Show"- but for Cinema Retro, Knotts discusses his film career in detail including the cult hits "The Incredible Mr. Limpet", "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", "The Reluctant Astronaut", "The Love God?" and of course, Stanley Kramer's "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"- for our money still one of the funniest movies ever made. BEATLES BOOK AUTHORS JOIN THE CINEMA RETRO TEAM- Stephen Spignesi and Michael Lewis, authors of the newly released book "Here There and Everywhere: The 100 Best Beatles Songs", have joined the Cinema Retro team. Steve is a recognized authority on The Beatles and Stephen King and has written numerous books relating to film, rock and roll music and television. Mike is the author/co-author of such books as "The Films of Harrison Ford" and "The Films of Tom Hanks".  The authors will collaborate on a series of informative articles relating to little-known facts about the Beatles feature films. Welcome aboard, gents!

 

 

 

ACCLAIMED DIRECTOR/EDITOR ANTHONY HARVEY TO BE FEATURED IN MAJOR INTERVIEW. Anthony Harvey, the esteemed director of "The Lion in Winter" and "They Might Be Giants", has agreed to an extensive, exclusive interview with Cinema Retro.
